A little bit about who I am...
I'm an IT professional, right wing extremist, gun totting, Republican voting, freedom loving, former U.S.Army MP who firmly believes that government is a necessary evil and can never be trusted.
I've worked with computers since the Reagan administration way back in the 80s. Thanks to my father and my father in-law, both of which had successful IT related careers. I've started to teach a college course that deals with the impact of IT upon society. This is part of the school's IT leadership major. If you are curious about my experience you can take a look at my resume.
My wife Paula and I were married in December of 1984, this was a mere 6 months after we graduated from HS. My oldest son, Matthew, was born in 1986 shortly before I was honorably discharged from the army. He was born at the base hospital of Fort Leonard Wood in MO. My youngest son, Nathan, was born a few years later in 1989 while I was working as a computer operator for NCR.
My father got me interested in computers when we brought home the venerable Commodore 64. I used that wonderful machine through my first year of college, printing out papers on a dot matrix printer which basically printed out something that looked
liked a connect the dots picture. My father in-law helped me obtain my first IT position when I was honorably discharged from the Army. This position was as a computer operator for NCR. I worked with a massive NCR mainframe computer, sitting at a console with reel-to-reel tape drives behind me, most of which were 1600 bpi which were upgraded to a massive 6250 bpi while I was there. We had heavy removable hard drives and loaded up our daily jobs with a card deck so this was back at the end of the computer stone age. Since that long ago time, I've had the chance to live in Dayton, OH; Kansas City, MO; Jackson, MS; before returning to Pittsburgh.

I've held the positions of systems analyst, network engineer, CTO plus other management roles. Now I'm excited to be embarking on another exciting phase of my life and sticking my toes back into the entrepreneurial waters with my sons and my wife. While the company is mostly theirs as I don't even own a meaningful percentage, it is fun to be involved with something brand new and to teach them a bit about the technologies I've used for the past decade. This leaves me free to teach, ride my Harley, play golf, read and do the occasional consulting engagement.
Maybe it is a mid-life thing but I got my very first tattoo in 2010 at the age of 43. I proceeded to get my second one a few months later and I'll probably end up with a couple more. The snake with "DONT TREAD ON ME" was done by Vincent Neil's shop in Vegas at the Rio. It was pricey but I like the way it turned out. My wife thinks I'm crazy and she is probably right.
Below is a picture taken during the 9/12 march in DC back in 2009. It was wonderful being surrounded by almost a million fellow right wing extremists. With the 2012 election fast approaching, our national nightmare should be coming to a close. Sadly both the Democrats and the Republicans have worked together to continually increase the size and power of the federal government. Now we've burdened future generations of Americans with an immoral amount of debt and created a culture of dependence. Americans now look to the government to solve their problems instead of rolling up their sleeves and getting to work. Both sides of the aisle have done their part in squashing the American spirit of self-reliance and independence, however, the Democrats deserve most of the blame. The party of Kennedy is long gone, replaced by left wing statists like Nancy Pelosi and B. Hussein Obama.

Late last year I turned my leased BMW into the dealership. You can read about why I don't think much of the people at Bobby Rahal BMW. If you are looking for an overpriced German automobile, I'd steer clear of them, unless you like being lied to and deceived.
