Guns for 18 year olds?
NYT editorial slamming the NRA for suing on behalf of 18 year olds to purchase hand guns. You've got to love the costal so called elites who have the need to project their slanted world view on the entire country. Plenty of 18 year olds are patrolling in Iraq and Afghanistan with loaded weapons. If they are old enough to fight and die they are old enough to carry a firearm for personal protection when they return home.
Naturally people in the comments are quick to point out that you have to be 21 to buy booze. Well, that is another law that should change. Either you are an adult at 18 or not. If not then fine, 18 is too young to join the military or to vote.
I'd be happy if there was an exception to any laws that set an age limit of 21 for anybody who is serving or who has served in the military. Heck, why not raise the voting age to 21 too for those who have not served? Actually, why not strip the citizenship away from those who have not served? Want to vote? Join the army. Heinlein had it right.
