Piracy on the Seas

Last Friday, Veteran's day, I picked up the Kindle version of M.J. Mollenhour's new book,Amazon Avenger.  One of the best $.99 I've spent :)  If you like thrillers and reading about the good guys kicking some Islamofascist terrorist ass, you'll enjoy the book.

The book includes some modern day pirates and mentioned a site icc-ccs.org with a live map of reported piracy related incidents.  I found it quite interesting to look at what has occurred thus far in 2011.

As you can see, those Somali assholes have been busy and the number of incidents in our hemisphere are quite tiny.  If, like my parents, you enjoy cruising and you stick to the Mediterranean or the Caribbean seas, theren't nothing to worry about.  However, if you fancy an extended cruise through the Suez canal, around the Arabian penninsula and then ending in Singapore, you might want to make sure your "affairs are in order."
